How to Make the vertical Divider Bar

First you need to bring up your background. Next, with the "Rectangle Selection Tool" draw a tall thin box next to the border image like so:

Sample #1.

Next, use the "Fill Tool" (paint can) to fill the "box" you made with the color of your choice like this:

Sample #2.

Once the divider is filled, you can then buttonize it and add a drop shadow if you like.

What you need to do next, in order for the divider bar to repeat nicely without any breaks in the line, is "copy" and "paste" sections of the divider at the top and bottom.

To do this, use the "Rectangle Selection Tool" again to draw a box around a section of the divider bar like this:

Sample #3.

Next, you need to go up to "Edit", then click on "Copy", then click on "Paste as New Selection". Drag that piece you pasted to the very top of the divider line - making it line up perfectly. It should look like this:

Sample #4.

After pasting the top piece on, then go up to "Edit" again and click on "Paste as New Selection" one more time. This time drag it down to the bottom and paste it on the very bottom piece. Be sure to make some of the piece that you pasted go off the bottom of the image a little - that way you can be sure the the break in the line is being covered up.

Once you have the divider done, then go up to "Selection", "Select None". Save your new background, you should now be all done! :-)
